Microsoft Says Windows Phone Store Now Has More Than 300,000 Apps

Microsoft has claimed that its Windows Phone Store now has more than 300,000 apps. The Redmond giant, on the other hand, revealed that it is retiring all Skype apps for Windows Phone 7.
The Redmond giant confirmed the new milestone by updating its "by the numbers" page that features a collection of visual statistics about Microsoft's products and services. The page notes, "The Windows Phone Store features more than 300,000 apps and games. Hundreds more are added every day."
A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed the figures to The Next Web, saying,
"We have more than 300,000 Windows Phone apps today and the Windows Phone Store continues to grow. In the past year alone the Windows and Windows Phone app catalogue has grown 94 percent, while the number of active developers has grown by 50 percent."
On being asked about the exact time frame when the 300,000 apps mark was touched, the spokesperson revealed that the Windows Phone Store passed the milestone at the end of June.
Microsoft's Windows Phone Store touched 100,000 apps in June 2012, while the 200,000 apps mark was reported in December last year, as noted by TNW.
In the meanwhile, Microsoft confirmed that it will retire all Skype apps for Windows Phone 7 and will also end support for Macs running OS X 10.5.8 or below.

Skype in a support page titled "Is Skype for Windows Phone 7 being discontinued?", first reported byTNW, said, "Yes. We want everyone to experience the best Skype has to offer - from enhanced quality to better reliability to improved security - and the newest version of Skype is the way to do that. So everyone can benefit from the latest improvements, we sometimes retire older versions of Skype across all platforms, including mobile devices. For that reason, we are permanently retiring all Skype apps for Windows Phone 7."
Meanwhile, Skype also confirmed to end support for Macs with older generation OS X, reported byApple Insider and TUAW. The company in an official response to an issue said that it no longer supports anything lower than OS X 10.6.

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro With 6-Inch QHD Display, Snapdragon 801 Launched

After a flurry of leaks and official confirmations, Lenovo as expected on Tuesday launched its new flagship smartphone, the Vibe Z2 Pro (aka K920).
The Chinese electronics giant announced the news on its Google+ page, as well as on its official Facebook page, saying, "From rumours to reality! Max performance, pro camera--we just unveiled this beast of a phone."
The company as of now has not revealed the pricing details of the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro; it has however detailed a September availability for the smartphone.

Notably, the newly-launched Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is the same phone that was previewed as the Lenovo K920 back in June at the Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai.
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro sports a 6-inch Quad-HD (1440x2560 pixel) display, which will be up against the likes of the LG G3 and Oppo Find 7, which also sport QHD displays.
It runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with the company's proprietary Vibe UI 2.0 on top. The smartphone supports dual-SIM functionality. The Vibe Z2 Pro is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8974AC) 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, and clubbed with 3GB of RAM. Currently, the flagship devices from HTC, LG, Samsung, and Sony are powered by the same SoC series.
The new Lenovo flagship packs a 16-megapixel rear camera and also houses a 5-megapixel front camera. The Vibe Z2 Pro's rear camera comes with OIS (optical image stabilization), 4K video recording functionality, and dual LED flash.
There is 32GB of inbuilt storage on the Vibe Z2 Pro, which is non-expandable. It also supports NFC connectivity. The smartphone comes with a large 4000mAh battery with no word on talk time and standby time.
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro will be available in Black, Gold and Titanium colour variants.

iPhone 6 4.7-Inch Model Tipped to Sport 2100mAh Battery

Apple's long-rumoured 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model will come with a 2100mAh battery, claims an analyst citing supply chain sources across China.
Earlier leaks had indicated that the alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will pack a battery capacity between 1800mAh and 1900mAh. However, contradicting earlier claims, ESM-China electronics analyst Sung Chang Xu in a report (first picked up by Gforgames) has suggested that the Cupertino-based giant will equip the alleged smaller iPhone 6 variant with a 2100mAh battery. Further, Xu claimed that previous image leaks indicating the battery size of the iPhone 6 had actually shown the test units of the handset.
Unfortunately, there is no new word on the battery capacity of the anticipated 5.5-inch iPhone 6 handset. Previous leaks had tipped a 2500mAh battery to power the larger 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6, which is also rumoured to be called as iPhone Air.

If the purported battery capacity of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 comes out to be 2100mAh battery, it will be a major upgrade over the battery capacities of the iPhone 5s (1560mAh) and iPhone 5c (1510mAh).
The rumoured 2100mAh battery capacity of the iPhone 6 4.7-inch model, if true, will bring Apple's next iPhone into the league of Android flagships, such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 (2800mAh) ; HTC One (M8) (2600mAh) , and Nexus 5 (2300mAh) .
Multiple reports on Tuesday suggested that Apple would unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9. The date was almost in-line with previous leaks that pointed to a mid-September launch for the next iPhone 6 models. If true, the launch date would correspond to the second Tuesday of September, a day that Apple used to unveil the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s last year.
Earlier this week, a report even claimed that the two iPhone 6 models - with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays - would have different processors and touch modules.

Review: 3rd Generation MINI Cooper

The 3rd generation of the MINI Cooper is here. The car will begin rolling out in markets the world over, and will make its way to India in 2014 too. BMW insists the MINI is British to the core, and yet it seems to be all about German engineering! It's a confused pitch and more so when the global press drive happens in Puerto Rico - an American protectorate - far, far away from England in the Caribbean!
So while MINI can claim nice and loud that it is made in England, and claim British citizenship too. But one look at its entire development team for the new generation hatch and you don't hear a single British accent!

The new 3rd generation MINI hatch as always will be available in 3 variants. The MINI ONE where things start off, the Cooper and then the Cooper S. But a big part of the story with the new generation is a whole new line up of engines, as it's the first time that the BMW is going big on the 3 cylinder engine. There are two iterations each on the petrol and diesel side of things. I drove the Cooper (3 cylinder/1.5 litre twinpower turbo petrol/136 bhp/ 6 speed manual gearbox/0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds) and the Cooper S (4 cylinder/2.0 litre twinpower turbo petrol/192 bhp/6 speed automatic/0-100 in 6.8 seconds).
The range begins with the MINI ONE with a 1.2 litre 3 cylinder petrol and 1.5 litre 3 cylinder diesel. The Mini Cooper has a diesel option which uses the same 1.5 litre diesel block, but with increased output at 116 bhp.
Phew! Too many numbers, now the real deal - the drive. I started with the Cooper, dressed in Deep Blue Metallic. Straight away, the car comes across as more grown up, but also immediate - the realisation that it lacks the direct go-kart like feel very evident in the first two generations. Handling is good though, but the point really is that this feels more car-like overall and less MINI-like! I was glad to be driving the manual option, but feel there is a lack of clutch feel. This means the car threatens to stall or stutter a bit, but you get used to the clutch response fairly soon. The new gearbox otherwise has a solid feel, changes in the higher gears are very smooth, and you don't need to constantly downshift in city traffic. The car's peak torque kicks in relatively low at 1250 rpm, which helps of course. And at no point would you come away thinking this is an underpowered 3 pot. Its feisty and fun - this engine, and from a power delivery point of view, the fun really starts when you put this little tyke into Sport Mode. An instant change of throttle response, and the fun element goes up! Yes the go-kart is beginning to make an appearance at last!

Now let's meet the MINI Cooper S - the range topper, available in just one engine spec as I mentioned. I have the car dressed in Volcanic Orange, with black sport stripes on the hood, and a black contrast roof! I'm glad I drove the Cooper before driving the S, because if I had done it the other way round well then the Cooper could have possibly come across as less powerful for sure. But don't forget I am pretty impressed with that 3 cylinder and it's been fun, but the S simply has to be more than that, isn't it?
Yes well that is where conventional thinking takes you folks! While the car is fast, I can see clearly that the new Cooper S is even more un-MINI-like than the new Cooper was! The car is swift and sporty alright, but once again lacks the character of a true, hard MINI - which really is a pity! It just feels more ubiquitous, and it will still hold its own against rivals like the Fiat 500 Abarth, Clio RS, or even the Audi A3 hatch in Europe, it will somehow disappoint the real MINI aficionado.
There is dynamic damper control, which does lend a sporty feel to the suspension - but again - compare to the outgoing car, and the character is very much changed. The engine feels refined with the 192 horses doing duty with efficient ease. Like in the Cooper, the turbo kick-in is so smooth and effortless and you are instantly reminded that there is BMW technology under that hood. The new automatic gearbox feels good too as it is definitely smoother through the shifts, and the new driver assistance aids like head-up display and parking-assist are pretty cool.
In terms of looks, BMW decided to stay with the winning formula, and so at first glance the car is instantly recognisable as a MINI. The headlamps and front grille are a tad exaggerated but with the addition of the daytime running LED lights that form a ring around the headlamp cluster, it all comes together. You can now get the contrast roof and exterior mirrors in white or black on any variant, at no extra cost.
So the car still looks cute, even though MINI has stretched it just a bit. Overall length has increased by 98 millimetres to 3821 mm. Wheelbase is at 2495 mm (up 28mm), width at 1727mm (up by 44 millimetres) and height stands in at 1414 mm (up by 7 mm). Boot volume has also increased by 51 litres to 211 litres.
Well most new generations are always bigger than their predecessors right? Well, in this case the reason for new dimensions is the new platform. BMW's front-wheel-drive UKL platform will spawn compact cars for BMW and MINI brands, the new Cooper family being the smallest and most compact. So given the slightly larger vehicles that also need to share this platform, the size increase for the new MINI Cooper became somewhat of a necessity.
Inside, the car looks premium and plush. You can opt for varying fabrics and dash trims. Bowing to pressure perhaps, MINI has moved the speedo back to the regular position, behind the steering wheel, and the big round binnacle in the central console now houses the infotainment - that also includes the rear camera view and navigation screen. The display itself is ringed by an LED tube which changes colours, to show different functions! Rev the engine to redline and it will go from yellow to red clockwise, put the car in green mode and it turns green of course, there's blue or red for the climate control settings depending on the temperature you want, and there's a different shade of blue which lights up for any social media app interface. In all 6 colours are possible that almost emit the car's moods, and functions! Now you will say that is a gimmick, and I shall agree. But it is all very funky and cool, packed with attitude, and I have to say - this part IS very MINI for sure!
BMW has announced that the hatch will no longer be made in just Oxford, UK but also in the Netherlands under contract with VDL Nedcar. Being in the Eurozone, this opens up the likelihood of CKD kits being shipped to India at last, as it wasn't economical to ship those from Oxford. And given that this car sits under 4 metres, on some variants we could potentially get more price points on the hatch too - if BMW decides to localise some bits. Remember MINI has employed this strategy with the Countryman last year (which is made by Magna Steyr at Graz, Austria).
So I look forward to the MINI Cooper coming here soon enough. I do hope we get the diesel option this time, and yes maybe a locally produced variant too!

Maruti Suzuki Stops SX4 Production to Make Way for Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has finally taken the SX4 off the production line in order to start the upcoming Ciaz's production. Considering the fact that the new sedan has often been spotted testing in the country and now that MSI has also commenced its production, there is little doubt that Ciaz is poised to be launched in India pretty soon. However, the company is yet to make any official announcements about the date. The Maruti SX4 was brought in as the Baleno's replacement in 2007, but its sales never really managed to impress anyone. With the car barely posting an average monthly sales of 250 units for the past few months, Maruti's decision to cease its production doesn't come as a surprise.

The Ciaz gets an entirely new design as compared to the exiting SX4; it features a trapezoidal grille with chrome accents, large bumper with wide air dams, fog-lamps and angular shaped projector head-lamps. Also, the flowing aerodynamic creases add sportiness to the sedan's side profile. The rear looks equally aggressive and sporty with the dual tailpipes, bumper integrated air scoops and tail-lights.

As far as its powertrain is concerned, the Ciaz will be offered with both, petrol and diesel engine options, i.e. it will get the 1.4-litre K-series petrol and the 1.3-litre multijet diesel unit. Though the 1.4-litre petrol motor is the same as the one found on the Ertiga, it will be in a better state-of-tune but in the Ciaz. It might also come mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT gearbox. On the other hand, the diesel model will house the same Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre multijet diesel unit that also powers the SX4. That said, if rumours are to be believed, the top-end diesel variant of the Ciaz might also get the 1.6-litre multijet diesel unit.

2015 Bentley Flying Spur V8 Launched in India; Priced at Rs. 3.1 crore

Bentley announced the launch of the 2015 Flying Spur V8 in India. With prices starting from Rs. 3.1 crore, the final price will depend on the options you take. This particular one from Bentley gets the new V8 motor and joins the Flying Spur W12.
The 4.0-litre V8 is mated to a twin-turbo induction system which helps it churn out 505bhp and develop a massive 660Nm of torque. Bentley says that 0-100kkm/h is dealt in just 5.2 seconds while the top speed is limited to 295km/h. The engine is mated to ZF's dual-clutch 8-speed transmission which ensures the gear shifts are smooth and power delivery on-tap.

The V8 engine features cylinder deactivation tech, which can shut off up to four cylinders at light load to bump up fuel economy.
The exterior of the V8 gets a few tweaks like it loses out on chrome on the lower grille which is replaced by a black finish. Even the Bentley logo gets a red background now. Satya Bagla, Managing Director, Exclusive Motors says, "For those who love the V8 exhaust note, the world's most exhilarating luxury sedan has finally arrived. We are pleased to introduce the new Flying Spur V8 derivative in India, which has Bentley's renowned all wheel drive with smooth 8-speed quickshift transmission giving the driver speed with sophistication and an unforgettable experience whether you are (at) the back or behind the wheel."

Steve Jobs Had a Dream: Free Wi-Fi by Everyone, For Everyone

Wi-Fi is fast and nearly ubiquitous in smart devices, but its range means that its use is very limited. Most people have passwords on their Wi-Fi networks to prevent strangers from hacking into their hardware, or worse, using their network to carry out illegal activities online. But Apple co-founder Steve Jobs dreamed of a future where Wi-Fi was free for everyone.
Walt Mossberg, reputed technology journalist who gained prominence for his Personal Technology column in the Wall Street Journal, which ran from 1991 until his departure from the newspaper in 2013, is one of the journalists who had the opportunity to have some long conversations with Jobs.
In a column on Re/code on Monday, Mossberg wrote that Jobs was frustrated by the fact that the iPhone could show a list of Wi-Fi networks nearby, but wouldn't be able to use them to access the Internet, because of passwords on the networks. Jobs, Mossberg writes, wanted to resolve this issue.

His idea was to get as many wireless router makers as possible to build in a "guest network" option - essentially a second Wi-Fi network, securely walled off from the rest of the home network, and with its own name. Then, he hoped that the industry would encourage people to share their bandwidth with strangers via these guest networks. That way, a smartphone user could walk around, moving from one Wi-Fi hotspot to another, without logging in - much like people using cellular data move from one cell tower to another.
According to Mossberg, while Jobs understood the need for security, the late Apple co-founder "was determined to figure out a way to make free, safe, Wi-Fi sharing from homes and small local businesses not only possible, but common". In fact, this was not just some personal goal, but Jobs wanted to "get other companies involved, in a sort of consortium, to make this happen."
If Steve Jobs made any progress on the matter it isn't clear, as this is something that wasn't in the public domain until Tuesday.Having said that, it's interesting to see Jobs who is so closely identified with closed, premium ecosystems, wanted to build something "free and open."
As Mossberg points out, many routers today do in fact come with a guest network feature, but it's something you have to turn on yourself, and that requires a little tech savvyness to do, which is why most people don't enable the option, or protect it with a different password from their main network.
A network of Wi-Fi hotspots along the lines that Mossberg describes Jobs envisioning is probably a pipe dream - it would require far too many entities to work together and as cellular networks improve, the need for such a network is also slowly reducing.

In a country like India, it makes even less sense, since the law requires Internet providers including cyber cafes to log the identities of all users. A workaround would be a device based identifier, that works a little like a SIM card, so that the network you're using would always be tracked, but otherwise, needing to constantly log-in with your phone number (or a user ID) each time you move between networks would be cumbersome, and unfeasible.

How to Recover Deleted Photos from a Memory Card

Recuva (for Windows)
Recuva (version 1.51.1063) is a 4.02MB free download, and works with PCs running Windows 2000 or above. To recover your files from your SD card, load the card on the PC via a card reader, select the corresponding drive in Recuva's drop down menu. Run a scan via the Scan button.

The scan will return a list of files on the card, including deleted or corrupted files, and give you the option the recover the files, using the Recover button.

Pandora Recovery (for Windows)
Pandora Recovery (version 2.1.1) is a free-to-use tool that is a 3.12MB download. It supports PCs running Windows XP or above. Just like with Recuva, users will need to load their SD card via a card reader, and perform either a Quick Scan or Deep (Surface) Scan to throw up results of deleted and corrupted files. The second option is for formatted memory, and while it is slower, it should turn up more results than a quick scan.

Users can then choose which files to recover from the results by right clicking. Alternatively, users can run the Pandora Recovery Wizard and follow on-screen instructions.

Stellar Phoenix Mac Photo Recovery (for OS X)
The Stellar Phoenix Mac Photo Recovery software (version 6.0) is a 13MB download, and supports Macs running OS X 10.5 or higher. Users will be required to connect their SD cards through a card reader.

Users can then select the Recover Photo, Audio & Video option, and then select their drive from the left panel. Thereafter, they can either choose the Scan Now or Advanced Scan (for a custom scan) option. The scan will return a list of recoverable files, from which users can choose which files they want recovered, and then click the Recover button. Users can scan the drive for free and preview the files the software can recover, but undeleting files is a paid option. The software is also available for windows.
PhotoRec (for DOS, Windows 9x or higher, Linux, OS X)
A free, open-source multi-platform data recovery software, PhotoRec (version 7.0 beta) is a 9.4MB download (for Windows 64-bit), and works with PCs running a vast variety of operating systems. It comes bundled with TestDisk, an app for recovering lost partitions. Featuring a very basic text-based UI for older operating systems, PhotoRec also features a GUI-based version for newer ones.

In both versions, users will be asked to select the type of file system of the drive, select the relevant drive (after connecting it via a card-reader), and then proceed with Scan option, with the choice of Free (for deleted files) or Whole (for corrupted files). Users can then select the location where recovered files should be saved.
We hope these tools served you well. If you have any suggestions of other data recovery methods you'd like to share with your fellow readers, please let us know via the comments.

Apple to Unveil iPhone 6 on September 9: Reports

Apple will unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9, multiple reports said on Tuesday.
The date is almost in-line with a mid-September timeline that has been expected for the announcement, though it contradicts another recent report that had predicted an October launch. If true, the launch date would correspond to the second Tuesday of September, a day that Apple used to unveil the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s last year.
Re/code first reported the September 9 launch date on Tuesday:

Onstage at our inaugural Code conference earlier this summer, Apple SVP Eddy Cue described the company's fall product pipeline as the best he'd seen in his 25 years at Apple. A few weeks from now we'll get our first look at what he was talking about. Apple has scheduled a big media event for Tuesday, Sept. 9 - a date to which Apple numerologists will strain to attribute significance. As with September events past, the focal point of this one is to be Apple's next-generation iPhones, which are expected to feature larger displays of 4.7 and 5.5 inches and run speedy new A8 processors. Apple declined comment. 9to5Mac previously reported that Apple was tentatively planning an event for mid-September.

Later, WSJ and Bloomberg - both citing people familiar with the matter - independently confirmed the launch date

The iPhone 6 is expected to come in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch variants, and be powered by the new Apple A8 processor. iPhone 6 will run iOS 8, the newest version of Apple's mobile OS that was previewed alongside OS X Yosemite at WWDC back in June.

Navdy Launches Car Heads-Up Display for Android and iOS Smartphones

Navdy on Tuesday launched a heads-up display (HUD) car console at $499. The company claims that the new heads-up display (HUD) will allow users to access their smartphone apps while driving, without taking the smartphone out of their pockets, or removing their hands from the steering wheel for extended periods of time.
As an introductory offer, Navdy has priced the HUD at $299 for the first 30-days, after which the device will be available at its original price. The Navdy heads-up display will only ship sometime in early 2015.

Navdy is also offering a 10 percent refund to early adopters for each friend they refer to buy the latest heads-up display (HUD) car console. The Navdy car console can be paired over Bluetooth, and it can also share data with smartphone over Wi-Fi.
The company said, "Navdy is running a 30 day pre-order campaign on navdy.com to gauge consumer demand and collect feedback from early adopters. Backers will have early access to the Navdy device so that they can provide feedback and help guide the app development process as the company ramps up to a wider release."
Notably, Navdy's heads-up display features a projection transparent display and also supports voice and gesture commands for picking up calls, texting, making calls and other stuff. The device uses a magnetic mount that helps it to stay on top of the dashboard of compatible vehicles. The company notes that the heads-up display (HUD) car console can be easily moved to another car.

Shahrukh Khan to Feature in Hyundai Elite i20's Advertisement?

It is no secret that the King Khan of Bollywood aka Shahrukh Khan has been closely associated with Hyundai India since a very long time. SRK has been the South Korean carmaker's brand ambassador in India since the company's early Santro days. He has featured in commercials for Santro and i10 and if we are not wrong, SRK might soon ad(d) the Hyundai Elite i20 to the list.
Shahrukh tweeted from his official Twitter account about working late for a Hyundai advertisement on August 5, 2014 at 10:25 PM IST.
Considering the fact that the next big launch from Hyundai's stable will be the Elite i20, we are inclined to assume that this advertisement might have something to do with the new-generation of the premium hatchback Hyundai i20.

Hennessey Eyes Speed Record with the Venom F5

Hennessey has been in the news for the right reasons and they have also established themselves as the masters of speed. Therefore, it doesn't come as a surprise when they published details of the Venom F5. Long story short, Hennessey is gunning for the top speed world record with the Venom F5, yet again!

We've seen what the Venom GT can do, but there is more on offer with the F5. The Venom F5 will be charging towards attaining the top speed record as it can do an estimated 465Km/h. The Venom F5 features a more aerodynamic body that will reduce drag coefficient from 0.44 to below 0.40 while generating a high amount of downforce, thanks to a rear diffuser.

Under the hood beats a 7.0-litre, twin-turbo, V8 engine, which is the same as the one on the Venom GT, but the folks at Hennessey are looking to squeeze out more than 1400bhp. This will be achieved by increasing the size of the turbochargers and upgrading the intercooler and fuel system.
The car weighs around 1300 Kg; its lightweight construction can be attributed to the extensive use of carbon fibre and aluminium. The Venom F5 will be faster than the GT and that is what will make it a potent competitor for the top-speed prize.
The Venom F5 will be offered with a newly developed single-clutch paddle-shift gearbox that will enable the vehicle to accelerate quicker. Moreover, a GPS-based stability/traction control system will help channel the F5's immense power and provide an increased margin of safety, whether on a racetrack or a back road.
A minimum of 30 units will be built and production will start after Hennessey rolls out the final Venom GT.

The Rezvani Beast Takes Shape

Rezvani Automotive Designs has released a new video series that highlights the creation of their Ariel Atom-based Beast. We first told you about the car in the month of May and said that it is one of the most futuristic looking things out there.
The clip reveals a foam model beginning to take shape as a five-axis Gantry Milling Machine carves out the Beast's stylish exterior. This is the base of the carbon fibre bodywork after which, each piece of carbon fiber will then be carefully crafted over the foam and molded to exact dimensions. This type of quality build ensures that no imperfections make it to the final production form.

Once that is done, Rezvani will turn their attention to fitting the wheels and the rest of the electrical units. The company hopes to complete the first Beast by early December this year.

'World's Fastest External Phone Charger' Developed

Researchers claim to have invented the world's 'fastest' external phone charger which ends the need to plug your smartphone into a wall electricity socket and can achieve full charge in just 15 minutes.
The Petalite Flux battery, created by Leigh Purnell, an Aston University graduate, can charge itself from empty to full in 15 minutes. The device, small enough to fit in the pocket or bag, eradicates the need to plug your phone into a wall electricity socket or computer USB slot.
When the phone needs charging, users can simply connect it to the Flux battery and continue with their day. In 2014, Purnell established Petalite Battery Systems with the intention of creating the world's fastest charging external battery.

The Flux battery will soon be launched on the IndieGoGo crowd-funding website.
Recently, a new battery pack (also commonly referred to as a power-bank) was claimed to charge-up sufficiently in 15 minutes to be able to recharge most smartphones completely. Made by UNU Electronics, the Ultrapak Portable Battery Pack Series is claimed to gain 2000mAh of power with just 15 minutes of charging.
UNU had introduced the new Ultrapak series last month. The Ultrapak Go and the Ultrapak Tour by the company uses the Ultra-X charging technology that supposedly recharges up to 8x faster than conventional batteries thus resulting in a 2000mAh recharge in about 15 minutes. Users can then connect the power-bank to normally charge their smartphones or tablets.

The Ultrapak Go comes with 3000mAh battery capacity which can be fully charged in about 30 minutes of time. The power-bank is priced at $59.99 (approximately Rs. 3,600) and is available on company's store. The 10000mAh large battery capacity power-bank Ultrapak Tour requires approximately 100 minutes to fully charge. The power-bank on its store is priced at $99.99 (approximately Rs. 6,000).

2015 BMW X4

  • BMW has officially unveiled their new X4 crossover at the Geneva Motorshow.

  • The Bavarian car manufacturer had previewed the X4 concept at the Shanghai Motorshow, probably a year ago and now here is the final production version.
  • x
The X4 is based on the X3 and draws a lot of inspiration from the X6 when it comes to styling.

  • There's an aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille and the twin headlamps

  • The swooping roofline is reminiscent of a "classical sporting coupe."

  • The X4 is 14mm longer and 36mm lower than the X3 and BMW promises that it will be available in a range of engine options.

  • Inside, the X4 is similar to the X3 and comes equipped with aluminum trim, electroplated accents and gloss black control panel surrounds.

Skoda Vision C Concept

  • The C, from what we can guess, stands for Coupe but you'll soon understand that it's a redundant statement since it's a four-door ( five counting the tailgate)

  • The triangular headlamps and taillamps remind you of the VW concepts but at heart it will be essentially a Skoda.

  • The Vision C concept car is powered by a 1.4-litre TSI four-cylinder engine that can run on either petrol or compressed natural gas (CNG).

  • There is a possibility that the Vision C will be made on VW's MQB platform

  • The vehicle demonstrates the company's outstanding design and engineering expertise

AUDI TTS

  • The front of the new TT is dominated by horizontal lines. The Singleframe grille is much broader and flatter than that of the previous model, with a powerful line dividing it into two zones.

  • The flat headlights give the new TT's face a determined look. Xenon plus units are standard, and Audi can optionally provide LED headlights

  • The new TT weighs in at 1230 kgs which makes it 50 kgs lighter than its predecessor

  • Audi offers the new TT and TTS with three different four-cylinder engines with turbocharging and direct injection

  • The instrument cluster and the MMI screen have been combined to form a central, digital unit - the so-called Audi virtual cockpit.
