Lamborghini Smartphone Now Available Globally

For the consumer who wants a smartphone to make an impression, the Lamborghini nameplate can do that for a cool $6,000 (roughly Rs. 3.7 lakhs), shipping included.
Tonino Lamborghini Mobile on Monday announced the global launch of the stainless steel-and-leather handset ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Despite an uncertain economy and declining prices for mobile devices, the Italian-based company says it may be unable to meet demand.

"We provide technology as well as luxury. We are not after volume."

The company is not related to Lamborghini automobiles, which are now produced by a division of Volkswagen, but was created by Tonino Lamborghini, the son of the famed auto designer Ferruccio Lamborghini.

The 88 Tauri handset is offered in black, gold and steel silver and is finished with high-grade leather available in five colors. Each phone is assembled by hand and receives a unique device number.

The Crew :: Coolest graphics in the game

It's been a year of slim pickings for racing fans. Barring Forza Horizon 2 and GRID Autosport, there has been very little to choose from for fans of the genre in this country, particularly because you can't get Driveclub outside of the grey market just yet. We haven't seen a new game in the Need For Speed series either, with Electronic Arts deciding against a release this year. With this in mind, The Crew becomes one of the very few multiplatform racing games available at the moment. Ubisoft's open world game wears its influences on its sleeves, bringing together every cliche from Need For Speed Underground series and Fast and The Furious.

You have not-so-legal street racing gangs, an FBI investigation, and a slew of cars to choose from. It might not be the most original of settings but it serves as a ready scaffolding against which you can explore what the game has to offer.

You're not in cruise control
Unfortunately for a racing game, driving in The Crew is a terrible experience, even if it looks good. The cars handle poorly, and you'll end up crashing into corners instead of taking smooth turns. At the start of the game, the handling of all the available cars is sluggish and unresponsive - compared to a game like Need For Speed Rivals, or GRID Autosport, racing in The Crew feels like a dental procedure.
In the long term the handling does improve and it does so nicely. This is because the game incorporates a leveling system where your cars gain experience as you progress, which translates into better performance as well.
After the initial couple of hours, as you progress and your ride gains levels, you'll notice that the handling improves and the chance of you hitting a building while taking a corner has drastically reduced. It becomes a better game than what it was but it stops short of being a joyride. You're still not completely in control of your car, but have more than enough to make it through the rest of the game. Which begs the question: are you willing to pour in the time in the hope that the game's core driving mechanic gets better?
Speaking of denying fun, the single-player campaign is filled to the brim with cookie-cutter missions. You'll drive from one point to another with a time limit, try to evade the cops, and compete against AI opponents that race as if they have invisible rocket engines strapped to their cars. Thankfully, the game doesn't force its story down your throat. Once you're done with the initial exposition, you're better off exploring its expansive game world replete with variety rather than wrestle with the story missions that feel like busywork. Tragic considering that the premise appears to set things up for interesting missions.

Verdict
So is Ubisoft's open world racer worth your time and energy? It just depends how starved you are for a brand new racing game and your willingness to tolerate its many concerns until they're rectified, if at all. If you aren't, you're better off playing some of the older Need For Speed games instead.
We played a review copy of The Crew on the Xbox One. The Crew is available for Rs. 1,799 on PC and Rs. 3,499 on PS4 and Xbox One.

BlackBerry Classic Camera Features Revealed; White Colour Tipped

The camera features and modes of BlackBerry Classic smartphone, which is set to start shipping from December 17, have now been previewed officially by the firm. The handset's White colour variant has also been leaked online.

The smartphone, which has been appearing in Black colour variant until now, seems set to arrive in White colour also, according to n4bb website. The image leaked (seen above) by the website reportedly shows an official render of the device in both black and white colour.
To recall, BlackBerry earlier this month started taking pre-orders for the Classic smartphone at $499 (roughly Rs. 30,800). Rumoured specifications of the BlackBerry Classic smartphone include a 3.46-inch display with a resolution of 720x720 pixels; a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus CPU; 2GB of RAM; 16GB of inbuilt storage; expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB); an 8-megapixel rear camera; a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1515mAh battery.

Donny Halliwell, BlackBerry's Social Media Marketing lead, on the company blog post detailed a number of camera modes and other features included the Classic handset on Tuesday. Some of the features mentioned are Panorama Mode, Offline Time Shift Mode, Timer, HDR Mode, Burst Mode, and Shutter Buttons. However, the rear or front-facing camera sensor size were kept a secret.
Halliwell explains that BlackBerry Classic will feature an easier method to capture panorama images by simple swiping from left to right. The handset will also flaunt better HDR technology, which "combines multiple exposures, so that if you're in less than ideal lighting situations like a bright sunny day, or a dimly lit room, pictures shot with HDR activated, could appear more balanced."

iPhone Likely Next Year, Targeted at 'Female Users

Recent reports indicated that Apple might discontinue the production of the iPhone 5c next year.If the reports come out to be true, then the discontinuation of the iPhone 5c will leave the iPhone 5s as the only handset from Apple to feature a 4-inch display.
Now, rumours from Apple's supply chain in China suggest that the Cupertino-based giant plans to launch a new 4-inch model, which can be expected to launch only in the second half of the year.

Gforgames citing a Chinese publication suggests that Apple's rumoured 4-inch model will be majorly focusing on one hand operations and will also target "female users." To give some context, Apple launched its "bigger than bigger" iPhone 6 featuring a large 4.7-inch display and the iPhone 6 Plus with a 5.5-inch display.

As of now, details related to the new rumoured 4-inch iPhone model are limited. If the rumours are to be believed, it will be interesting to see how Apple will redesign its 4-inch iPhone, as the company already had iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5s sporting 4-inch screens and form factors.
On Thursday, a report claimed that the Taiwanese supplier Pegatron might get 50 percent of the total Apple allocation for the next-generation iPhone, expected to debut next year in September.
The report cited a note to clients from a European brokerage that said, "For the next product cycle, iPhone 6S, likely out in September 2015, we believe for the first time in the iPhone history, Pegatron will become the main source for assembly, with more than 50 percent of the 4.7-inch allocation."

Downgrading to iOS 8.1 no longer possible

Nearly a couple of weeks after releasing iOS 8.1.1, which brought along several bug fixes as well as increased stability and performance improvements for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, Apple has stopped signing iOS 8.1. This means that you’ll no longer be able to downgrade or restore to the previous firmware version.

The change in the signing status of iOS 8.1 can be confirmed on the popular third-party iOS firmware database IPSW Downloads -- the iOS 8.1 page on the website now shows red ‘!’ icons instead of green check mark icons.
If you prefer jailbroken devices, you’ll be pleased to know that iOS 8.1.1, which is compatible with the iPhone 4S and newer, iPad 2 and newer, and the fifth-generation iPod touch, is jailbreakable as well.

Samsung Galaxy to Launch Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung may not have announced any plans for its next Galaxy S flagship smartphone (reportedly codenamed 'Project Zero') likely to debut next year; however, reports related to the company's plans have started to emerge.Sammobile claims that it "can confirm" that the next Galaxy flagship will be called Galaxy S6. The publication has also learned that Samsung, similar on the lines of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and limited edition Galaxy Note Edge, will launch the Galaxy S6 Edge alongside the Galaxy S6.

As of now, details related to the Galaxy S6 Edge are limited; though Sammobile speculates that it will sport one-sided curved screen, reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

"Preliminary specifications" off the Galaxy S6 are tipped to include a QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution panel (size unspecified); a Sony IMX240 camera sensor, the same used in Galaxy Note 4; a 16-megapixel or 20-megapixel rear camera; a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and inbuilt storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
Further, the Galaxy S6 is said to be powered by 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor (four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A57 cores), while another variant featuring a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor is expected.
We remind readers however, that nothing is official yet, and that all such leaks must be taken with a pinch of salt.

OnePlus One Review: The New Mid-Range Smartphone

Specifications and software
Most of the OnePlus One's appeal lies in its hardware, and it isn't hard to see why. You'll have a very hard time finding anything else that delivers the same amount of power at this price level. It all begins with a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, which has four CPU cores running at 2.5GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. That's matched with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space (a 16GB model is available in other markets but not in India at launch time).
The 5.5-inch 1080x1920-pixel display has its touch sensitive layer fused to display panel, which OnePlus claims makes the screen far stronger than the common OGS (one-glass solution) method of production.
There's Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0 along with NFC and GPS. There are also three microphones for noise reduction. Sadly, there's no microSD slot. The 3,100mAh battery is also sealed in.

While certainly impressive, hardware is only one part of the OnePlus One's appeal. Another is - or should have been - its software. Since it first debuted, the OnePlus One has proudly used CyanogenMod, one of the world's most popular alternative Android distributions.  The version on the OnePlus One is CM 11S, which is based on Android 4.4.2.

OnePlus One 64GB Model Launched at Rs. 21,999

OnePlus has promised it will roll out a community version of a custom build of Android 5.0 Lollipop to Indian users in December, a production ready build will be available in February.

The One smartphone sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 1080x1920 pixel resolution and offers a pixel density of 401ppi. The display boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

It comes with 3GB of RAM and is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5GHz with Adreno 330 GPU. Unfortunately, the OnePlus One does not support expandable storage.

The One sports a 13-megapixel rear IMX214 sensor with six lenses and f/2.0 aperture that boasts quick shutter speed of only 0.3-seconds, according to OnePlus. It also comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Connectivity options on the OnePlus One include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC functionality. It features a 3100mAh non-removable battery.

APPLE becomes RED.......

Android 5.0 Lollipop Bug-king

Another day and another Android 5.0 Lollipop bug. This time multiple users running the latest Android build on the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 handsets are reporting a bug that is preventing them from sending SMS messages.
Notably, Google has now confirmed to a Dutch site  that the SMS bug is also affecting the new Nexus 6 while a user has claimed that the new Moto X is also having problems with sending texts. The bug however is only reported to be affecting users on select carriers - Vodafone Netherlands, Vodafone India, and Mobistar (Belgium).
One of the users describes the issue, saying, "When trying to send an SMS it fails. Using the new messenger app I get an error code 38."
A user from India using Vodafone writes, "Same issue here on Vodafone India. Not able to send SMS to any number."

Reporting the bug on the Android Issue Tracker titled "Cannot send SMS Vodafone NL", Android 5.0 Lollipop users are claiming that the messages sent from an affected device never reach the recipient; though devices that are said to be affected by the bug can still receive messages.
While acknowledging the SMS bug, Google responded to Tweakers and said (Google Translate), "We have discovered a software bug in Android 5.0 Lollipop which ensures that Vodafone customers cannot send text messages in the Netherlands. This bug affects the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, but the Nexus 6 as well."

Prior to this, we'd heard about a Wi-Fi bug that was reported to be affecting some users, and then multiple reports claimed that Android 5.0 Lollipop also removed the very useful 'silent mode' from phones. Some Nexus 7 (2013) tablet users on Monday were reporting issues in playing any video on the device after updating to the latest version of Android.

Eight Siri Features That Android Doesn't Have

Siri is about as close as a virtual voice assistant can come to matching a real person. Any Apple user can tell you that Siri has a great personality, is unfailingly polite and can execute a bunch of actions on your iOS device - just be sure to ask politely. You can ask Siri to make phone calls, read out your email and even have conversations about its favourite films.
1. Teach Siri to pronounce names

If Siri isn't pronouncing any contact's name properly, say, "That's not how you pronounce it." Siri will then ask you to pronounce the name. Then it will show you three audio clips, each with a different pronunciation of the name. You can pick the one that's closest to the actual pronunciation. No matter how hard we tried, Siri had trouble pronouncing many Indian names. In that, it's just like a real person from another country who can't pronounce local names. Android users can also do this, but the process is more complicated. You have to go to contacts, then edit the entry, then add a field for phonetic name, before finally having to type in the name phonetically. It's definitely easier to do it Apple's way.
2. Post to Twitter/Facebook
If you've logged in to Facebook (Settings > Facebook) and Twitter (Settings > Twitter), you can ask Siri to post a status update or tweet. Just say, "Post to Facebook" followed by your message or, "Tweet" followed by what you want to post on Twitter.
3. Search recent tweets
Siri has a built-in Twitter search function, which you can use to look for recent tweets or just to display a list of your most recent tweets. Just say, "Search Twitter for" followed by your query. To see your tweets, say, "Show my tweets". Of course, you need to be logged into Twitter (Settings > Twitter) on your device for this to work.
4. Identify, buy songs
Siri now identifies songs via an integration with Shazam. Say, "Which song is this?" or "Name that tune". Siri will listen to the song and try to identify it. This works well with both English and Hindi songs. You can tap the Buy button next to the song or you can ask Siri to buy the song for you. Google has this feature too, but it is not active in India yet.
If any song is playing (or paused) in your music player, you can ask Siri to "Buy that song". It will search the iTunes Store for the song and you can buy it there.
5. Weather
Any personal assistant worth its salt will be able to tell you the local temperature and show you a forecast. But you can ask Siri specific questions such as, "Is it cold outside?". It then answers your query and shows the day's forecast. Asking Google if it is cold outside had us listening to the song of the same name, which wasn't a total loss, though not what we had in mind.
6. Roll dice, flip coins
You're in a situation that can only be resolved with a coin toss or a throw of the dice. You can either search every nook and cranny in your wallet for a coin and search your entire house for that elusive dice. Or you can just ask Siri to do either of these things. Google has added this feature but Google Voice search doesn't help with this yet.
7. Best movies
Siri's taste in films seems to be heavily inclined towards movies that feature artificial intelligence. If you ask it about its favourite film, its answer is sometimes Blade Runner and sometimes 2001: A Space Odyssey. Even if you ask it to pull out a list of best films, Her is among the top three. But what's more useful is that you can also ask it about "best movies in 1999" or any other year and it lists 24 of the top-rated films on film review website Rotten Tomatoes. Google returns "popular on the web" results, which are not nearly as useful.
8. Siri's got personality
This is one place where Siri is miles ahead of Google Voice Search. You can have conversations with Siri. You can ask it various questions ranging from its origins, if it needs food or sleep to whether it 'loves you'. Siri's personality is good enough that a boy with autism made Siri his best friend. This might not sound like a very important feature, but it's also what makes actually using Siri so comfortable, despite the accent problems, and that's an accomplishment.
These are the things Siri is best at, but there are other things it can do. The following features are available with other virtual assistants too, but that doesn't make them any less useful.
  1. Read messages and email.
  2. Call numbers, contacts, set alarms, reminders, and set up meetings with your contacts. It can also assign relationships - you can say, "Mom is my mother", and Siri adds the relationship to your contact list.
  3. Switch on/off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, etc.
  4. Open apps (just speak the name of the app).
  5. Search Google (default Siri search is Bing and there's no way to change that).
  6. Unit and currency conversions.
  7. Solve maths problems (and calculate percentage tips on restaurant bills)
  8. Wikipedia searches: Try, "Tell me about..." followed by the name of a famous person or event.
  9. Siri can tell you the current time in any major city. You can also ask it to tell you the number of days between any two dates.
  10. Sports scores: You can ask Siri about major sporting events such as English Premier League scores.

First Impressions: Xiaomi Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G

Xiaomi on Monday launched the Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G phablets in India. The Xiaomi Redmi Note is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be sold through the company's online retail partner Flipkart in India. Flash sale registrations will start from November 25 at 6pm IST, and the first sale will happen on December 2, similar to way the Xiaomi Mi 3 and Redmi 1S have been sold so far.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G will be sold by Filpkart as well as at 100 Airtel exclusive stores in six cities - Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai - but its launch is slated for the second half of December. Even though it will be available at physical stores, consumers will need to register on Airtel's website in advance and only those who win invitations from the company will be able to pick one up in person.
Xiaomi says that the 4G variant is specifically made for India, and it supports FDD LTE band 3 and TDD LTE band 40.
Both the Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G look the same, and there is no difference whatsoever from the outside. Upfront, both smartphones feature 5.5-inch HD (720x1280-pixel) IPS LCD displays with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Notably, Xiaomi offers the Redmi Note in some regions without protective glass.
Both smartphones feature 13-megapixel rear autofocus cameras with LED flash, and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras. We tested the rear camera in different lighting conditions and the results appeared quite decent, though sometime we felt the images were slightly oversaturated. The cameras use Samsung sensors, and overall seem to be at par with several affordable phones with the same camera specifications, but we will reserve our final verdict for after the full review.

Lamborghini With Snapdragon launching a new luxury smartphone in January,

Tonino Lamborghini will reportedly be launching a new luxury smartphone in January, called the 88 Tauri - named after the constellation. For now, pricing information has not been reported, but the smartphone is claimed to be set for an India launch via Luxury Quotient.

Other reported specifications include a 3400mAh battery rated to deliver 1,000 hours of standby time, a 20-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The Tonino Lamborghini 88 Tauri will reportedly be available in limited quantities.
Quite a few major manufacturers have tried their hands at luxury smartphones, and one of the most recent examples is a collaboration between BlackBerry and Porsche Design - resulting in the Porsche Design P'9983. It starts at EUR 1,650 (roughly Rs.
1,27,000).
